WhyLabs

WhyLabs, a spin-off from the Allen Institute for AI, a new machine learning startup on a mission to build the interface between humans and AI applications.

WhyLabs empowers AI builders to run models with certainty by offering tools previously only available to tech giants.

WhyLabs was co-founded in 2019 by Alessya Visnjic, Maria Karaivanova, Sam Gracie, and Andy Dang. The company is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

The WhyLabs Platform offers teams an intuitive interface for monitoring and analyzing their models that is easy to set up, easy to use, and easy to scale. To begin, a team simply installs a lean, open-source library, which seamlessly integrates with on-premise infrastructure and all major cloud services.

WhyLabs takes the pain out of model and data monitoring so that you spend less time firefighting, and more time building models. Upon installation, the WhyLabs user interface immediately starts surfacing the right insights to the right team members—insights that can be easily shared and used for collaboration.

WhyLabs is backed by Madrona Venture Group, Bezos Expeditions, Defy Partners, AI Fund, Ascend VC, and others. The company raised $10M in Series A round on Nov 04, 2021. This brings WhyLabs' total funding to $14M to date.
