Volta is a the leading and disruptive all-electric commercial vehicle manufacturer and services provider.

Volta's mission is to accelerate the transition to all-electric trucks, reducing the effects of climate change and helping make our cities safer, healthier and more sustainable for everyone. 

Volta Trucks was founded in 2019 by Carl-Magnus Norden, alongside Kjell Waloen. The company is in Stockholm, Sweden, with operations across all major cities in Europe and the UK. Volta also has a manufacturing facility is in Steyr, Austria.

 

Volta launched the Volta Zero, the world’s first purpose-built all-electric 16-tonne vehicle designed for urban logistics, reducing the environmental impact of freight deliveries in city centres. The Volta Zero is designed from the ground up with an operating pure-electric range of 150 – 200 kms (95 – 125 miles).

 

Volta's Truck as a Service solution provides fleet managers with the frictionless electrification of their vehicles. Truck as a Service provides the electrical supply and infrastructure, finance, maintenance and servicing, and training, all in one package to de-risk the migration to electric and maximise the uptime and operational efficiency of each vehicle.

 

Volta Trucks has partnered with a number of global leaders in the supply chain for the development and production of the Volta Zero, at pace and scale. Volta Trucks announced a strategic partnership with Siemens Smart Infrastructure, to deliver and scale eMobility charging infrastructure to simplify the transition to fleet electrification.

 

Volta Trucks is backed by Luxor Capital, Byggmästare Anders J Ahlström, European Investment Bank (EIB), Agility, B-FLEXION, Ernesto Bertarelli, and others. The company raised $43.3M (€40M) in a debt financing on Mar 28, 2023. This brings Volta's total funding to $433.4M to date. Volta Trucks was valued at a $490M in its $260M Series C round on Feb 2022.
