VOI Technology

VOI Technology is a Scandinavian micro mobility company offering electric scooter and bike sharing in partnership with cities and local communities.

Voi aims to create a system of electrically powered scooters around urban centers to provide an affordable, sustainable, and exhilarating way to commute while helping people to reduce their carbon footprint and cities to have a more sustainable transportation network.

VOI Technology was founded in 2018 by Douglas Stark, Filip Lindvall, & Fredrik Hjelm and is based in Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden.

The Voi platform works in a fashion similar to other e-scooter and e-bike startups out there — users download the Voi mobile app, find the nearest scooter available, and then scan a QR code on the scooter to activate their ride.

VOI Technology already has scooters in 70 cities across the U.K. and Europe. To date over 15,000 scooters has been sold.

Voi has been a carbon-neutral company since January 2020 and has adopted the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guiding framework and has set a clear agenda for reducing and offsetting emissions.

VOI is backed by Balderton Capital, Raine Group, Vostok New Ventures, VNV Global, JME Ventures, LocalGlobe, Project A, Creandum, Nordic Ninja, Kreos Capital, and others. The company raised $115M in Series D round on Dec 20, 2021. This brings Voi's total funding to $517.9M to date. The latest round mints Voi a unicorn with a valuation at over $1B post-money.
