Substack's platform now has more than 35 million active subscriptions, including two million paid subscriptions. Readers have paid more than $300M to 17,000+ writers through the platform.

 

Substack is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, Y Combinator, The Chernin Group, Zhen Fund, Fifty Years, Garage Capital, Emmett Shear CEO of Twitch, and others. The company raised just over $3M since mid-May and in Apr the company closed a crowdfunding campaign with more than $7.8M. This brings Substack's total funding to $85.7M to date. The transactions valued the company at $585M pre-money. Substack was previously valued at $650M after raising a $65M Series B round in Mar 2021.
