SonoMotion

Sonomotion is a medical device startup that is developing non-invasive solutions for the treatment of kidney stones.

SonoMotion's focus is to offer the best patient experience and stone-free outcomes from the technologies we are engaged with.

SonoMotion was founded in 2014 by Oren Levy and Bryan Cunitz. The company is headquartered in San Mateo, California.

SonoMotion's first product, Break WaveTM, is an ultrasound solution that fragments kidney stones non-invasively and more effectively than existing options. Break WaveTM uses low pressure ultrasound waves to target and fragment kidney stones non-invasively, in an outpatient setting with little to no anesthesia.

SonoMotion's also launched, Stone ClearTM, a therapy is designed to reposition post-lithotripsy residual fragments within a 15-minute procedure in the office on fully awake patients to help them pass their stones naturally.

SonoMotion is on a trajectory to fundamentally change how kidney stones are managed. Break WaveTM, in combination with Stone ClearTM, has the potential to deliver a new first-line treatment of kidney stones which saves OR time, reduces patient treatment costs and allows patients to resume their lives earlier.

SonoMotion is backed by Advanced MedTech Holdings, MedVenture Partners, Inc., BioVentures Investors, SolarCity co-founder Lyndon Rive, and others. The company secured $12.4M in a Series C round on Nov 17, 2022. This brings SonoMotion's total funding to $27M to date.
