Ready Player Me

Ready Player Me is a cross-game avatar platform for the builders, creators and residents of the metaverse.

Ready Player Me is on a mission to break down the virtual walls to build a more open and connected metaverse.

Ready Player Me was founded in 2014 by Timmu Tõke, Rainer Selvet, Kaspar Tiri and Haver Järveoja. The company is headquartered in Tallinn, Harjumaa, Estonia, with offices in Berlin and Los Angeles.

Ready Player Me provides developers an avatar system, allowing the teams to focus on creating worlds and experiences. The platform also provides distribution through its network, and opens new revenue opportunities through interoperable avatar asset sales and a cross-game economy.

Ready Player Me aggregated a proprietary database of more than 20,000 face scans captured with the company’s own hardware-based 3D scanners. These scans enabled Ready Player Me to build a deep-learning solution that can predict and render realistic faces from a single 2D photo.

Ready Player Me handles about 5 million avatars from across some 3,000 partners, including VRChat, Spatial, Somnium Space, RTFKT and many more. The company also already works with individual creators and fashion brands such as Adidas, New Balance, Dior, Pull&Bear, and Warner Brothers (Dune movie outfits).

Ready Player Me is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Samsung Next, Taavet Hinrikus (Co-Founder of Wise), Sten Tamkivi (Co-Founder of Teleport), Tom Preston-Werner (Co-Founder of Github), and others. The company raised $56M in Series B round on Aug 23, 2022. This brings Ready Player Me's total funding to $85.5M to date.
