Qoala is an omnichannel insuretech company, with a purpose to democratize, empower and redefine insurance for customers.

Qoala works with large-scale platforms to drive awareness about insurance – a product that has low penetration in Indonesia.

Qoala was founded in 2018 by Harshet Lunani, alongside with Tommy Martin. The company is headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia, and has operations in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand

Qoala distributes retail insurance products such as motor, property, travel, health coverages as well as life policies to consumers through its omnichannel platform.

Qoala leverages big-data, machine learning, IoT and blockchain to revolutionize insurance landscape in Indonesia. It also provides several innovative micro-insurance products through its partnerships with Traveloka, Redbus, DANA, JD.ID, Shopee, Kredivo and Investree among others.

Qoala also empowers the public with financial literacy across various offline and online platforms. The company has acquired over 60,000 insurance marketers and its customers have benefited from over $30M in claims to date by partnering with insurers across its three markets.

Qoala is backed by Eurazeo, Sequoia India, Flourish Ventures, Kookmin Bank Investments, Centauri Fund, MassMutual Ventures Southeast Asia, responsAbility Investments, Indogen, and others. The company raised an additional $7.5M in Series B round on Mar 28, 2023. This is an extension of its previous $65M in May 2021, bringing Series B total to $72.5M. The additional investment brings Qoala's all time funding to $89M to date.
