Near is an ambient intelligence platform providing real-time information on places, people, and products.
Near leverages the source of intelligence on people and places for enrichment and marketing, in a privacy-led environment.
Near was founded in Singapore in 2012 by Anil Mathews. The company is headquartered in Pasadena, CA, with offices in New York, London, Singapore, Bangalore, Tokyo and Sydney.
The Near platform processes massive data from smart environments to understand consumer behaviour at a global scale. Currently processing data from over a billion devices, the Near platform powers Allspark, its flagship SaaS product for data-driven decisions, which enables customers to visualize, engage and analyze audiences.
Near describes its approach as “stitching” and it’s patent-protected, giving it a kind of moat against other competitors, and potentially some value as an asset for others that are building big data businesses and need more privacy-based approaches.
Near works with major brands and companies including McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Ford, the CBRE Group and 60% of the Fortune 500. Near has amassed 1.6 billion anonymized user profiles attached to 70 million locations in 44 countries.
Near is backed by Sequoia Capital, JP Morgan Private Equity Group, CF Principal Investments, Greater Pacific Capital, Cisco Investments, Telstra Ventures, Global Brain Japan, and others. Near is listing on Nasdaq by way of a merger with KludeIn I Acquisition Corp, the deal will value the company at nearly $1B. Near is also picking up a $100M equity investment on May 19, 2022. This brings Near's total funding to $234M to date.
