Muse® by Interaxon

Muse manufactured by InteraXon, is an immersive meditation device that provides real-time feedback on your mental activity, heart rate, breathing, and body movements to help you build a consistent meditation practice.

Muse translates your mental activity into the guiding sounds of weather to help you find focused calm.

Muse was founded in 2007 by Ariel Garten, Trevor Coleman, Chris Aimone, and Steve Mann. The company is based in Toronto, Ontario, with subsidiaries in the U.S. and Ireland.

Interaxon leverages improvements in sensors, Bluetooth and battery life, as well as advances in digital signal processing and machine learning, to make it cost effective to access brain biometric signals to support healthcare needs in real-world environments.

Interaxon' Muse is worn over the ears and connects to a companion mobile app via bluetooth. The use of Muse enables the use of biofeedback, differing from a device like Thync that claims to actually alter brainwaves by wearing it.

Muse is one of the largest brain data (EEG) collections in the world, with over 100 million minutes of sessions of meditation to date. Muse has more than 500,000 users globally.

Interaxon (Muse) is backed by BDC Capital, EDC, Alabaster, Phyto Partners, Iter Investments, Intretech(HK) Co, The Clavis Foundation, and others. The company closed an oversubscribed $9.5M Series C round on Aug 11, 2022. This brings Interaxon's total funding to $39.9M to date.
