Modulr is a Payments as a Service API platform for digital businesses, which integrates into any product or system.
Modulr's mission is to make payments an enabler of business growth, not a barrier.
Modulr was founded in 2015 by Myles Stephenson, Jakub Zmuda, Martin Threakall, Cyrus Wadia, Ritesh Tendulkar and Kevin Hayes. The company is headquartered in London, with offices in Edinburgh, Dublin and Amsterdam.
Modulr's technology enables businesses to build payments directly into their own platforms without needing to build complicated payment systems, become regulated themselves or manage the complexities of payment network membership.
Modulr's modern FinOps Hub removes a material layer of cost and complexity associated with reconciliation and processing of volume payments. The FinOps Hub operates across a wide range of payment rails, is real time, open 24/7, and is simple to connect to via Modulr’s APIs.
Modulr delivers payments infrastructure for over 200 top-tier customers, including Revolut, Wagestream, Sage and BrightPay, and their millions of customers. Modulr is now processing an annualised transaction value of more than £100bn.
Modulr is backed by General Atlantic, Highland Europe, PayPal Ventures, Frog Capital, Blenheim Chalcot, Capability, Innovation Fund, and others. The company raised $108M in Series C round on May 18, 2022. This brings Modulr's total funding to $186.7M to date.
