Meatable

Meatable is a foodtech company pioneering a way to produce real, tasty meat without harming animals or the planet.

Meatable aim is to deliver, at scale, cultivated meat that looks like, tastes like, and has the nutritional profile of traditional meat.

Meatable was founded in 2018 by Krijn de Nood, Daan Luining, and Mark Kotter. The company is headquartered in Delft, South Holland, Netherlands.

Meatable’s proprietary platform technology enables a fundamentally more cost effective and scalable production process. It replicates the natural process of fat and muscle growth, in proportions that emulate traditional cuts of meat.

Meatable makes cultivated pork by taking one sample of cells from an animal without harming it and replicates the natural growth process of the cells using patented opti-ox™ technology combined with pluripotent stem cells.

Meatable is currently able to reach 500-liter bioreactors and grow cells at 80 million cells per milliliter, thus enabling the company to make fat and muscle within days.

Meatable is backed by Agronomics, Invest-NL, Section 32, BlueYard, DSM Venturing, Humboldt, Bridford, MilkyWay, Taavet Hinrikus, Rick Klausner, and others. The company raised $35M in a Series B round on Aug 07, 2023. This brings Meatable's total funding to $95M to date.
