Kopi Kenangan was co-founded in 2017 by Edward Tirtanata, James Prananto and Cynthia Chaerunnisa. The company is headquartered in Jakarta, Jakarta, Indonesia.

 

Kopi Kenangan’s strategy involves positioning itself between the high-priced coffees served at international coffee chains and the cheap instant coffee sold in street stalls. It has more than 600 stores in 45 cities. 

 

Kopi Kenangan has also expanded its product offerings to include Cerita Roti bread, Chigo fried chicken and soft-cookie brand Kenangan Manis. It also boasts its own mobile application, which is the top-rated and most downloaded coffee app in Indonesia.

 

Kopi Kenangan served 40 million cups of coffee in the last 12 months, and expects to serve 5.5 million cups per month in Q1 2022.

 

Kopi Kenangan is backed by Sequoia Capital India, Tybourne Capital Management, Horizons Ventures, B Capital, Verlinvest, Sofina, Falcon Edge Capital, Kunlun, and others. The company raised $96M in Series C round on Dec 27, 2021. This brings Kopi Kenangan's total funding to $333M to date. The latest round valued the company at over $1B post-money.
