Headway was founded in 2017 by Andrew Adams, Jake Sussman, Dan Ross, and Kevin Chan. The company is headquartered in New York, New York.


Headway is building the first national, virtual network of therapists who accept insurance, helping providers to expand their practices, and individuals to finally find a therapist they can afford. 


Headway currently has more than 3,000 therapists on its platform covering not just NYC, but also New Jersey, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Michigan, Virginia, Washington, Illinois and Colorado.


Headway has more than 2,000 patients joining the platform each month and has so far helped facilitate 300,000 appointments, with a current average of 30,000 appointments each month.


Headway is backed by Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, Thrive Capital, GV, GFC, IA Ventures and others. The company raised $70M in a Series B round on May 04, 2021. This brings Headway's total funding to $102M to date. The latest round valued the company at $750M post-money.
