Group14 Technologies

Group14 is a global manufacturer and supplier of advanced silicon-carbon technology for lithium-silicon batteries.

Group14 is on a mission to enable the electrification of everything - from tiny medical, consumer and commercial devices to every possible flavor and size of transportation.

Group14 was founded in 2015 by Rick (Eric) Luebbe and Rick Costantine. The company is headquartered in Woodinville, Washington.

Group14 currently operates a commercial-scale Battery Active Materials factory in Washington state with two forthcoming factories: one in South Korea as part of a joint venture with SK Group (coming online in 2022) and a second U.S. factory (coming online in 2023).

Group14 launched its first Battery Active Materials (BAM-1) factory in Woodinville, WA, in April 2021 with a nameplate capacity of 120 tons per year of SCC55™, its silicon-carbon battery technology.

Group14's SCC55™ is capable of turning any gigafactory into a 1.5GW facility overnight. Already validated in EV-scale batteries and for extreme fast charging applications, Group14's technology helps leapfrog significant barriers to high-performing battery applications.

Group14 is backed by Porsche AG, Amperex Technology Limited (ATL), US Department of Energy, Microsoft's Climate Innovation Fund, Lightrock, BASF, OMERS Capital Markets, Oman Investment Authority, Cabot Corporation, Moore Strategic Ventures, SK materials, Decarbonization Partners, OVP Venture Partners, Showa Denko, Molicel, and others. The company $214M in additional financing on Dec 14, 2022. This follows Group14's $400M Series C announced in May 2022, bringing the round total to $614M. The additional investment brings Group14's all time raise to $756.2M to date.
