Gecko Robotics

Gecko Robotics is an industrial robotics startup that makes inspection robots for industrial services, starting with inspections.

Gecko Robotics collects and make useful physical data in order to protect civilization's most critical infrastructure.

Gecko Robotics was founded in 2013 by Jake Loosararian. The company is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with offices in Richmond, Virginia and Austin, Texas.

Gecko has developed a revolutionary way to use robots as an enabler to capture data for predictability of infrastructure; reducing failure, explosions, emissions and billions of dollars of loss each year."

Gecko’s wall-traversing robots help companies capture infrastructure data at scale, searching for weaknesses or damage to aging assets such as pipelines, tanks, boilers, and ship hulls. It also allows for high-signal inspections to be performed from the outside of assets like tanks, pipes and boilers, reducing forced outages and production stoppages.

Gecko currently has 60 robots in its stable of robots, which are equipped with HD cameras, sensors, and transducers, can climb walls and equipment to inspect tanks, boilers, and pipes for thickness, cracks, and “other forms of degradation.

Gecko is backed by XN, Founders Fund, Drive Capital, XYZ, Y Combinator, Next47, Mark Cuban, Snowpoint Ventures, Joe Lonsdale, and others. The company raised $73.3M in Series C round on Mar 03, 2022. This brings Gecko's total funding to $122.3M to date.
