EnginZyme

EnginZyme is a green tech company developing biomanufacturing processes for the sustainable manufacturing of everyday products

EnginZyme's goal is to put sustainable, biobased technology within reach of companies across various sectors.

EnginZyme was founded in 2014 by Robin Chatterjee, Samuel Härgestam and Karim Engelmark Cassimjee. The company is headquartered in Stockholm, with offices in UK and the US.

EnginZyme's technology platform utilises nature's catalysts, enzymes, combining the power of biology with the efficiency of the chemical industry in a best-of-both-worlds solution.

EnginZyme replaces traditional fossil-based manufacturing with the patented cell-free technology platform to accelerate the shift toward the sustainable biomanufacturing of products that modern society relies on.

EnginZyme creates tailored, stable, solid biocatalysts that can foster multi-step enzymatic reactions, similar to what happens in nature. EnginZyme provides integrated solutions, taking a broad approach beyond just designing biocatalysts.

EnginZyme is backed by Sofinnova Partners, Industrifonden, Almi Invest GreenTech, Navigare Ventures, Bunge Ventures, SEB GreenTech VC, and others. The company raised €21M in a Series B round on Dec 19, 2022. This brings EnginZyme's total funding to €32M to date.
