Doubtnut

Doubtnut is an interactive online tutoring platform which uses image recognition technologies, to provide solutions of some mathematical questions.

Doubtnut leverages technology to make education accessible for all.

Doubtnut was founded in 2016 by Tanushree Nagori and Aditya Shankar. The company is headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana, India.

Doubtnut has created an App using which students can ask study questions in Math by clicking the picture of the problem or concept. Subject matter experts then create a Khan Academy style video to answer each doubt.

Doubtnut's app extracts text from the image and tries to match it in its database of questions which are pre-answered, having recorded video solutions. If it finds a match, then the result is provided to the user otherwise it asks the user to post their question publicly for tutors available on the platform to provide a video explaining his query.

Doubtnut is backed by Tencent, Omidyar Network India, Japan-based Akatsuki Entertainment Fund, Curefit and others. The company raised $15M in a Series A round on Jan 31, 2020. This brings Doubtnut's total funding to $18.9M to date.
