Casana, formerly known as Heart Health Intelligence, is a healthcare technology firm that is re-inventing in-home health monitoring.
Casana is empowering the world’s caregivers with access to reliable, consistent vital signs to improve the lives of those we love.
Casana was founded in 2018 by Nicholas Conn, as a spin-off from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in partnership with the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC).. The company is headquartered in Rochester, New York.
Casana’s first product, The Heart Seat™ is an IoT heart health toilet seat that captures clinically relevant measurements, including heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygenation, and cardiac output.
Casana is currently pursuing FDA clearance for The Heart Seat. Casana is also investing in several studies to investigate the potential value of The Heart Seat for health systems and risk-bearing organizations.
Casana is backed by General Catalyst, Morningside Ventures, Matrix Partners, Outsiders Fund, Bemis Manufacturing Company, and others. The company raised $30M in Series B round on Jan 21, 2022. This brings Casana's total funding to $46.6M to date.
