Cambricon Technologies or simply Cambricon is a Chinese fabless design firm that designs neural processing units IP cores.

Cambrian is the forerunner in the global smart chip field and the first smart chip company in the world to successfully stream and have mature products. The company's mission is to create core processor chips for intelligent cloud servers, smart terminals and intelligent robots, so that machines can better understand and serve humans.

Cambricon was founded in 2016 by Chen Tianshi and is based in Beijing, China.

 

Cambricon offers processor intellectual property chips, including Cambricon-1A, a commercial chip processor for deep learning. Additionally, the company provides mean length utterance (MLU) smart chips for servers and software development kit for development environment. 

 

Cambricon's products have applications in smartphones, security and surveillance cameras, servers, robots, drones, wearable devices, and autonomous driving devices.

 

Cambricon's investors include SDIC Venture Capital, Chinese Academy Of Sciences, Alibaba Innovation Ventures, GoldStone Investment and others.

 

Cambricon was valued at a $2.5B in it's latest "Series B' funding of a $100M in Jun 20, 2018. That makes the one of the fastest startup ever to become a unicorn.
