Calyxt, formerly known as Cellectis Plant Sciences, is a consumer-centric food- and agriculture company focused on developing crops with healthier characteristics.

Calyxt develops healthier specialty food ingredients and food crops using gene-editing technology for agriculture in the United States.

Calyxt, Inc. was founded in 2010 by Dan Voytas & André Choulika. The company was formerly known as Cellectis Plant Sciences and changed its name to Calyxt in May 2015. It has it's headquarter based in Roseville, Minnesota.

Calyxt engages in the development of high oleic and low linolenic soybean product candidates; high fiber wheat; improved quality alfalfa product candidates; and cold storable and reduced browning potatoes.

Calyxt uses cutting edge plant breeding techniques to develop products that help improve diets by reducing bad fats, allergens and toxins. 

 

Calyxt went public on Jul 20, 2017, the company secured $60M+ in it's IPO event and was valued at over $210M.
