Allergy Amulet

Allergy Amulet is the world's smallest and fastest consumer food allergen sensor, testing for common allergenic ingredients in seconds.

Allergy Amulet offers a portable device that alerts users to the presence and absence of target allergens.

Allergy Amulet was founded in 2016 by Abigail Barnes and Joseph BelBruno. The company is headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, with an office in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Allergy Amulet has developed a consumer food allergen sensor, capable of testing foods for common allergenic ingredients in seconds. It can be used by individuals, as well as restaurant owners, schools, childcare providers, summer camps, and hotels.

Allergy Amulet’s detection platform pairs molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) technology with an electrochemical system to detect target allergenic ingredients. The Amulet consists of two parts: a thumb-sized reader (the “Amulet”) and a sampler.

Allergy Amulet is backed by AllerFund, Lightship Capital, TitletownTech, Great North Labs, Colle Capital, Great Oaks VC, DeepWork Capital, and others. The company closed its Seed funding totaling $4.1M on Mar 29, 2021.
