These 93 California Based Startup Raised over $5 Billion in Funding in February 2020 Alone!

 

 

Startups from California, specifically from the Bay Area, keeps attracting investors. It has been the gold mine for startups over the years. 2020 is no different at all. Its startups keep raising new investments. In February alone, more than 90 startups has received over $5 Billion, which is way more than what the rest of the world had manage to secure during this period.

 

These are the most notable round of funding in February 2020:

 

Alto Pharmacy:

A modern pharmacy that operates an online retail platform for prescription drugs. Alto Pharmacy offers free same-day delivery of prescription medications. It also develops a prescription management mobile application for patients and prescribers. Alto Pharmacy has served over 100,000 patients and delivered over 1,000,000 prescriptions. Doctors also rely on Alto’s technology to streamline time-consuming administrative workflows, like benefits investigation and insurance authorizations, needed to ensure that patients get insurance coverage for critical and expensive medications.

In addition to its acute and chronic care commercial expansion, the company has concluded a clinical trial to expand Tablo’s labeled indication to include home use.

Netskope:

A software company that helps companies protect data and protect against threats in cloud applications, cloud infrastructure, and the web. Netskope software is delivered as an SaaS via a distributed cloud in SOC-2 data centers. The solution steers cloud and Web traffic to a cloud-native service for the purposes of inspection and policy enforcement. Netskope is in a category of technology classified by Gartner as cloud access security brokers. Netskope raised $340M in a Series G round of funding on February 06, 2020.

 

 

JUUL:

An electronic cigarette company which spun off from Pax Labs in 2017. It makes the Juul e-cigarette, which packages nicotine salts from leaf tobacco into one-time use cartridges. JUUL Labs’ mission is to eliminate combustible cigarettes. The company was founded to provide the 1 billion smokers worldwide a true alternative to cigarettes that enables them to permanently switch. Its research indicates hundreds of thousands of smokers have already switched to JUUL, and they are working to enable millions more to switch in the coming years.

 

JUUL raised $700M in a convertable debt round of funding on February 06, 2020.

 

 

Snowflake:

A cloud-based data-warehousing startup that provides a data warehouse as a service designed for the cloud. Snowflake is the only data warehouse built for the cloud for all your data & all your users.
